Summerfest Plein Air Contest and Silent Auction June 11-16, 2011

Summerfest invites all artists to participate in the 5th Annual Plein Air Event, starting Monday, June 11th. This is a great opportunity for artists to paint the Cache Valley area, sell their paintings to the public during Summerfest, and compete for cash awards. "Plein Air" means "in the open air" and artists are encouraged to do just that, get out of the studio and make some paintings in the beautiful landscapes of Cache Valley. Each artist can enter up to two paintings, but can get more canvases stamped, so if they sell a painting at the Silent Auction they can replace it with another stamped painting.

Registration & Canvas Stamping: Summerfest Office, (69 E 100 N) Monday, June 11 from 8 - 11 am.

Return paintings: Bring paintings to the "Silent Auction" tent on the Tabernacle grounds by 10 am , on Wednesday, June 13.

Reception: Will take place at the "Silent Auction" tent on the Tabernacle grounds 50 N Main, Wednesday, June 13 at 6:00 pm.

Silent Auction: Begins at the reception, continues through Saturday June 16th. Auction closes that night at 6:00 pm. All sales are subject to a 25% gallery fee, and Utah Sales tax will be collected by Summerfest and submitted to the State of Utah. Unsold work must be picked up at the Silent Auction tent between 7:30 and 10:00 pm. Items left for more than 30 days after the event will become the property of Summerfest Arts Faire and may be sold to fund the Summerfest Art Scholarship Program.

Summerfest Photography Contest and Silent Auction June 11-16, 2011

Summerfest 2012 invites photographers to participate in our first annual photography contest. Take photos between June 11 and June 13 and submit framed photos June 13. All of the entered photos will be juried and displayed throughout the Summerfest event and can be available for sale at the silent auction if the photographer chooses. This is a great exposure for photographers and a good opportunity to have their work shown, and sold, at a major art festival. Photographers can enter two photos (if they are in different categories).

Photograph Dates: Photographs must be taken between 12:01 AM June 11 and 2:00 PM June 13, 2011. EXIF data is required.

Entries: Two entries per photographer allowed but must be from different categories.

Categories: Landscape, still life, portrait, action, wildlife and digital art. An honorable mention will be given to the winners of each category

Return Framed Photographs: June 13 from noon to 2:00 PM at the "Silent Auction" tent on the Tabernacle Grounds Logan.
