I believe jewelry is a wearable art form. I design my pieces to capture the attention of the viewer, but then on closer inspection the materials I have chosen to use elicit a delighted response.
I am a classically trained Goldsmith. For 30 years I created one of a kind pieces using ancient techniques in high karat gold, until the high prices of materials restricted what I could make.
I then decided to only use materials with little intrinsic value, letting what I did with the material create the value.
I now only use vintage coins and salvaged metals to fabricate my jewelry line. Most of my line is created using pr-1982 copper pennies and pre-1964 silver dimes. Other copper is salvaged from recycling centers.
