I use varying colors of clays and engobes to produce my 3D canvases upon which I use stamps, carvings, inlays or applied hues of clay for my leaf imprints. I also have multiple methods for creating textures and glaze/clay surface variations. My forms are often traditionally functional as well as decorative. Within the series that I have chosen to produce each form becomes unique in its design and color variations. I do not duplicate the pieces within each series though there are natural associations. I formulate my own clay engobes, oxide combinations and stains, along with my glazes & textures. My 50 years of making clay forms, whether hand-built or wheel thrown, and my mathematical background have greatly influenced my pottery children.
