I capture evocative images -- embedded in stone -- that resonate in nature.

Materials: Rough rock found in the ground or in old collections; minimal findings/hardware.

Technique: My focus is the image in the stone…I strive to conceal or minimize distracting metal, wire, or embellishments. I hunt for and design with extraordinary rock and emphasize its natural color, pattern, and geological imprint.

Combining art study with years of rock hounding, I trained at a rock shop with old-school lapidarists and evolved my personal technique with lapidary equipment. Pieces are slabbed on a 36” saw, cut down on a smaller saw, then ground, polished, buffed on a six diamond-wheel lapidary.
