One of a kind hand-loomed rugs, made of wool using an ancient Zapotec weaving and dying technique. The weaving technique used by Alejandro Taurino Mendoza consists of a two harness treadle loom to be able to manipulate the intricate patterns created by Alejandro. The dyes used by Alejandro are cochineal (red spectrum), indigofera plant (blue spectrum), marigold flower (yellow spectrum), pomegranate (black, gold spectrum), among other organic pigments.
