Performing Artist Information & Application

Deadline: February 18, 2018

Please review all information below before completing your application.

We have changed the way performer applications are submitted for this year. Please review all information below before completing your application.

You have two options for submitting an application:
  1. Use our fillable pdf application found here. This is Summerfest’s own application, but it is no longer an online application. You can download and complete the form, then email or mail it to us, along with your work samples.
  2. Create an artist profile and apply at This site is from the same people that provide the system we use for our visual artists. IMTour will allow you to upload your EPK (electronic press kit) with photos, audio, and video. A basic profile is free, but there are paid premium options. Having your profile on IMTour gives you access to many festivals and other venues, and you can apply to them without repeatedly sending work samples. In addition, if you apply to be on the IMTour roster and are successful, venues will have access to grant funds to help pay your fees, making you more appealing to presenters. You can get more information on IMTour at

General Information

Performance dates: Thursday, June 14, through Saturday, June 16, 2018.

Performances begin at about 10-11am and go until 10pm on Thursday and Friday, and until 9pm on Saturday.

The 35th annual Summerfest Arts Faire will be held at Tabernacle Square (50 North Main St.) in the heart of downtown Logan, Utah. Summerfest 2018 will feature 140 artists’ booths, performances on two stages, a family art yard, food from around the world, and much more. Attendance at Summerfest averages 50,000 and is Cache Valley’s favorite “kick-off to summer” event. Summerfest Arts Faire is a nonprofit corporation dedicated to celebrating the arts in Cache Valley.

We have two stages that operate concurrently at opposite sides of the festival grounds:

The North Stage is 24'x20'x40 inches high. Full lighting and sound reinforcement provided, with sound engineer on site at all times. The stage and audience area are both under a tent. Seating capacity is about 300 chairs plus lawn seating all around.

The South Stage is 16'x12'x24 inches high. Tent size and number of chairs will be increased in 2018 due to increased attendance at this stage. Seating capacity for 2018 will be about 150-200 plus lawn seating all around. Full sound reinforcement provided, with sound engineer on site. No lights, so no night performances. The stage and audience area are both under a tent.

This is a family-friendly festival, and we only hire groups that present material that is in good taste and does not celebrate drugs, alcohol, sex, or other adult topics.

Performance applications open December 9, 2017 and the deadline is February 18, 2018. Applications can be found at, or you can apply through

Selection Process

Artists will be selected by a jury comprised of music and performing arts professionals. Jury selections will be based upon materials submitted with the application and on past performances. The jury will look for professionalism, originality, creativity, and suitability of materials for our family audiences.

Work Samples

All applicants are required to provide samples of their work. The work samples should reflect how you will sound/look at Summerfest, i.e., if you plan to perform solo at Summerfest, your work sample should be solo, not a highly produced recording with multiple musicians playing. You can submit URLs for online places (your own website, or others like ReverbNation, CDBaby, Facebook, etc.) where we can hear your music.

If you do not have audio or video samples online, you may send audio and/or video files (make sure they are clearly marked with your group name) to  performances@logansummerfest  or you can mail them or drop them off at our office, 69 E. 100 N., Logan, UT 84321. These must arrive in our office by midnight, February 18th. We cannot return CDs, flash drives, photos, or other physical objects submitted.

Completed applications and supporting materials must be received by Summerfest Arts Faire no later than midnight on Sunday, February 18, 2018.  Notification of jury decisions will be emailed by Saturday, March 17, 2018.

Accepted performing artists are required to sign a contract with Summerfest Arts Faire specifying, among other things, payments, requirements, and liability. Contracts will be emailed by Saturday, April 7, and must be signed and returned no later than Sunday, April 22, either via email or by mail. Links to performances of accepted performers, as well as photos may be used for archival, publicity, and web site purposes before, during and after the event.

Performers must supply us with technical requirements by Friday, May 4.

Summerfest pays all contracted performers. Please indicate desired fee on the application and indicate if it is negotiable. Note: Summerfest does not pay transportation or housing for local or regional artists.

All payments will be made onsite following the performance.

Information packets detailing all production and setup information will be sent to accepted artists in May. Questions regarding Summerfest Arts Faire may be directed to our offices, (435) 213-3858, by mail to 69 East 100 North, Logan, UT 84321, or emailed to
